Biofuels are fuelling hunger,<\/p>\n<p>pushing up global food prices and causing land grabbing in countries across Africa, Latin<\/p>\n<p>America and Asia.<\/p>\n<p><b>Bio<\/b>: Silas Siakor is the Director of Friends of the Earth Liberia, one of Tr\u00f3caire\u2019s partner<\/p>\n<p>organisations in West Africa. Silas is an internationally renowned human rights advocate,<\/p>\n<p>environmentalist, international development expert, and winner of the 2006 Goldman<\/p>\n<p>Environmental Prize, an award which recognises individuals for sustained and significant efforts<\/p>\n<p>to protect and enhance the natural environment, often at great personal risk.<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>UCD\u00a0 SPIRe G311\u00a0 on Monday, November 11th at 1-2pm.
